This is Scott Deur's first season with the Texas Tornado. Deur started playing hockey at the age of four and says his father is the most influential part of his hockey development. Deur says his most memorable hockey moment was scoring the overtime goal versus the Chicago Chill (Pee Wee) also when his team was the Michigan State Champions in the Mite AA Travel League in Grand Rapids where he had a goal and an assist. Deur's favorite NHL team is the Detroit Red Wings and his hockey idol is Kirk Maltby.

 Deur, also known as "Scooter", "Scotty D", and "Deur" to his teammates, enjoys playing golf and lacrosse in his spare time. He likes to listen to all kinds of music and says his favorite artist is Usher. Deur's favorite foods are steak and lasagna and he says his favorite arena food is pretzels with cheese. Deur hopes to own his own business one day.
