This is Ian Braun's first season with the Texas Tornado. Braun started playing hockey at the age of four and says the USA Comps and Empire State Games have shown to be the most influential part of his hockey development. Braun, also known as "Brauner" to many teammates, says his most memorable hockey moment was being named MVP in the OPJHL Future Stars Game in 2007. Braun's favorite NHL team is the Buffalo Sabres and his hockey idols are his brother Marc and Pavel Bure.

Besides playing hockey, Braun enjoys playing golf and tennis. He enjoys listening to all kinds of music and his favorite artist is the Dave Matthews Band. Braun's favorite foods are crab legs, steak and potatoes and you will find him snacking on pizza in the arena this season. Braun hopes to eventually play D-I hockey or professional hockey.
