This is Axel Boyer's first season with the Texas Tornado. Boyer started playing hockey at the age of ten and credits his ice jet training as the most influential part of his hockey development. Boyer says his most memorable hockey moment was taking second place in the 2009 National Championships. Boyer's favorite NHL team is the Dallas Stars and his hockey idol is Sid the Kid.

Boyer grew up playing baseball, soccer and hockey. Now-a-days, Boyer enjoys playing volleyball in his spare time when he isn't on the ice. He enjoys listening to all kinds of music and says his favorite artist is the Dave Matthews Band. Boyer aspires to play college hockey and would like to have a large family some day.
