First United States Junior team to ever have three NCAA 1st Team All-Americans in one season
Former Texas Tornado defenseman Andy Wozniewski made Toronto Maple Leafs Opening Night roster on October 5, 2005.
Former Texas Tornado, University of Michigan, and United States World Junior Gold Medalist goaltender Al Montoya, drafted #6 overall in the 2004 NHL draft, is called up by New York Rangers on October 12, 2005. He is currently on the Phoenix Coyotes roster.
Former Texas Tornado defenseman Matt Nickerson, a 3rd round draft pick of the Dallas Stars in 2003, scored a goal for the Dallas Stars in a 2005 NHL exhibition game against Edmonton, and now plays for the Iowa Stars in the American Hockey League
Former Texas Tornado goaltender Dave McKee, shattered all of Cornell University's goaltending records in his first three years and in 2005 was named as a NCAA Division I All-American and Hobey Baker Award Runner-Up. McKee later signed with Anaheim Mighty Ducks of the NHL on March 31, 2006
Former Texas Tornado forward Jason Guerriero became first-ever Northeastern Huskies player to lead Hockey East in scoring in 2005, and was named as a NCAA Division I All-American. Guerriero now plays for the Milwaukee Admirals of the American Hockey League
Former Texas Tornado goaltender and 2005 St. Louis Blues draft pick Ben Bishop started in goal for the University of Maine as a freshman, was named to the Hockey East All-Rookie team for the 2005-06 season, and led Maine to the 2006 NCAA Frozen Four. In the summer of 2006, Bishop participated in the St. Louis Blues prospect camp and in October of 2006 was named College Hockey's National Player of the Month. He is currently on the St. Louis Blues roster.
Former Texas Tornado forward Jason Deitsch earned his 3rd consecutive NCAA Division III All-American award while playing for St. Norbert's College, and in 2006 was named United Hockey League Rookie of the Year
Former Texas Tornado forward Jason Bloomingburg set Wayne State's single-season goal scoring record in 2005
Former Texas Tornado goaltender Scott Talbot was named the 2005 University of Calgary Male Freshman Athlete of the Year, and attended the Washington Capitals prospect camp in July of 2005
Former Texas Tornado forward Anthony Pellarin led NCAA Division I Bentley College in scoring as a freshman in 2005
Former Texas Tornado forward Luke Flicek scored 2 goals and 2 assists for Army in their first playoff win since 1978, and led the team in scoring as a sophomore in 2005-06
Former Texas Tornado forward Sergei Korostin, from Russia, was drafted by the Dallas Stars in the 3rd round, #64 overall, of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft. He currently plays on the Texas Stars.
